Victorian Age Swimming Championships

Seth got off to a sensational start in the 50m freestyle, finishing 13th and missing the final by a mere 0.05 seconds. Swimming 26 seconds flat, Seth improved his time by 1.76 seconds. Continuing where he left off, Sethswam a strong 1:06.36 seconds in the 100m backstroke with a PB of 3.26 seconds finishing 21st. Next was the challenging 200m individual medley. Seth started strongly, swimming 28.22 seconds in the butterfly leg which was a 0.80 second PB and finished the race in 2:29.50. Backing up two hours later, Seth swam a scintillating 100m butterfly in the time of 1:01.89 seconds. Finishing 11th, Seth not only swam a 1.64 second PB, but missed the final by a meagre 0.06 seconds to top off his competition.

McKealystarted competition on day one with the 100m freestyle. An accomplished freestyler, McKealy swam close to her PB, finishing 40th, in 1:04.97 seconds. Backing up the next day, McKealy swam her pet event the 50m freestyle, finishing 30th in the smart time of 29.23 seconds, only 0.22 seconds outside her PB. McKealy joined up with three swimmers from Darwin and had great success in relay events, finishing 11th with a 4.64 second PB in the 4 x 100m freestyle relay and 15th in the 4 x 100m medley relay where McKealy swam a solid freestyle leg.

2017 Northern Territory State Short Course Team

Jarrod Cross (Alice Springs Swimming Club) and Bella Tinning (Darwin Swimming Club) will captain the 2017 NT Short Course Team.
